We are thrilled to announce that Substantial Media has been selected to participate in the Democracy and Elections Reporting Fellowship, a new program hosted by the Center for Information, Technology and Public Life (CITAP) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This unique opportunity is extended to North Carolina newsrooms as they gear up to cover municipal elections in 2023.
The Democracy and Elections Reporting Fellowship is not just an honor but also a testament to the dedication and quality journalism that Substantial Media is committed to delivering. Our inclusion in this program demonstrates our continued effort to provide our readers with comprehensive and insightful media coverage.
This fellowship is also a part of CITAP’s ongoing study aimed at identifying the types of resources and support that newsrooms require to effectively cover elections. With democracy being the cornerstone of our society, it is imperative that the news media is well-equipped to inform the public about the electoral process and its significance. Substantial Media is proud to be a part of this initiative that furthers the cause of democracy and the free press.
From September 25 to December 5, our team will be participating in weekly webinars with news organizations and journalists from across the state, along with public policy experts and North Carolina state election administrators.
Stay tuned for updates on our journey through the Democracy and Elections Reporting Fellowship. Your support and encouragement means the world to us as we strive to better serve our Substantial community.
