Substantial joins 10 local news organizations from across the Southeast for the fifth cohort of the UNC-Knight Foundation Table Stakes Initiative. The initiative, hosted by UNC’s Center for Innovation and Sustainability in Local Media and supported by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, helps news organizations identify challenges and opportunities and create sustainable solutions.

The Center for Innovation and Sustainability in Local Media is an initiative of the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media to support existing and start-up news organizations through dissemination of applied research and the development of digital tools and solutions. The Center is funded by grants from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and UNC’s Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor & Provost.
